Love Birds

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge theme is birds and that brought to mind lovebirds.  Since my daughter's anniversary is this week, I decided that would be the theme for her card.

I used the Heart from the cartridge Love Struck 2010 as the design and used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Birds and Swirls on the front of the card to continue the bird theme.  I used a Close to My Heart Crystal Blue and Pacifica instead of red and pink.  The red and pink looked too much like Valentine's day.  I had to be very careful removing this design from the mat as it is very delicate and tended to tear if I was in too much of a hurry.  Actually, I had to cut it twice as I tore the first one too much to repair!!

I used Close to My Heart White Value Pack cards.  I like the 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 size for my cards.  I hope that my daughter and husband like the card!

Train

I have been selling my husband's model trains and want to thank the dealer that is handling the transactions for me.  I haven't used  trains for a long time so for the Bitten by the Bug contest I am using the locomotive and coal car Folk art train  from the cartridge Folk Art Festival.  The thank you is the letters from the cartridge Paper Lace 2.  Since I made it in silhouette form black on white I am also entering it in Heart to Heart contest.   I used Black and Daisy White card stocks.

It is a very simple card, but appropriate for the situation.  That is one of the reasons that I love card making.  When I make it myself, it is exactly what I want.

super Hero

This card is for a  young adult that has loved super heros for many years.  So much so that he wanted the men in his wedding party, including him, to wear super hero costumes.  The bride immediately said no to that idea!  So at the reception the groom, best man and other men in the wedding party went up on the stage, took off their tux jackets, black ties, unbuttoned their shirts, and underneath they had on Super Hero tee shirts.

I am entering it in Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.

I used the Cricut Create a Friend cartridge for the super hero and Close to My Heart card stock in
cranberry for mask, cape and large lightening bolt, pacifica for body which includes the shirt, black for the pants, eyes and mouth, goldrush for the shoes, belt and small and large lightening bolts, canary for the hair and  and bamboo for the face.

I am sure that everyone laughed when he opened the card.  Anyway I hope he has a terrific birthday.

Snowman

Fantabulous Cricut  had snowmen as their topic this week and I love snowmen (and women).  He really looked energetic and happy to me.

To make this card I used the Cricut Santa's Village print and cut snowman.  I highlighted parts of the snowman with white glitter and the carrot and hat band with liquid glass.

The Cuttlebug Baby's Breath embossing folder was chosen for the light blue background because I thought that looked a little like snow flakes.

The liquid glass, card stock and note card were from Close to My Heart purchased from Katie's Corner.

I am going to use this for a birthday card and write a personal note on the inside.

Halloween at Midnight

For the contests at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge and Heart 2 Heart  I am using the pop out card from Cricut Cartridge Artfully Close To My Heart.  The banner is from Cricut Cartridge Formal Occasions.  For the Happy Halloween, I used the Cricut print from Cricut Design regular.  This is the first time that I have made a pop out card and it really wasn't that hard.  Of course my paper comes from KatiesCorner CTMH.  Halloween is such a fun holiday and I wish all of you a very happy and safe one.

Barn scene

A friend of ours is a retired farmer and still lives on his home place.  His birthday is this week.    I was so excited that Pile It On had a scene for their contest.  I'm also submitting to Inspiration Destination.

The barn is made from Cricut Cartridge Country Life  and the tractor is from Cricut Cartridge Boys Will Be Boys.  Most of the paper came from Close To My Heart at Katie's Corner.  I ran the fences through the Cuttlebug using the strip embossing folder to make the boards stand out from the posts.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from CTMH set Joyful Birthday Occasios in CTMH ruby.   Although the weather vein does now show up in the picture, I rubbed silver ink on it to make it stand out a little.  Most of the paper is from Close to My Heart,  I tried to cut the trim on the barn from some scrap paper and it would not cut clean and tore.  I used CTMH paper and it was a very clean cut.

witches hat

Halloween is a such a fun holiday, especially since my birthday is the day before.  A friend of mine was going to be gone on a trip on my birthday so she had a  luncheon party for me yesterday.  It was so nice and the soup and salad were delicious as was my birthday cake.  I wanted to send a unique thank you card and decided to use Bitten By The Bug contest for the idea.  I used the witch's hat from Cricut cartridge  Happy Haunting.  I used a font from Cricut Design.  I thought that it looked a little like a skull and cross bones.   It says "I tip my hat to you."  I will write a thank you note on the inside.  Most of the paper is from Close to My Heart, which of course came from KatiesCorner.
